Character Development

He was paired with Krayken and Breezewing who would swap body parts for gameplay variety as part of the game's mechanic. Aftershock's attacks involved smashing with his mace-like hands, summoning earth fissures, and rolling into a ball like Bash. Vicarious Visions really liked Aftershock, and hated to see him not make it into the final game. The team, however, did end up using his tail spike roll for Scorp.[1]

Trivia

  • Aftershock's name was used as the prototype name for the Trap Team core Skylander, Fist Bump.[2] Coincidentally, both characters have maces for hands; Aftershock was also planned to be able to create fissures, which seems to parallel Fist Bump's ability to create fault lines.
  • In the filenames of the Skylanders: Swap Force alpha build, he is called Tellus.[3]
