Species: Unknown
Gender: Male
Role: Unknown

Krayken is a scrapped Water Skylander character.

Character Development

Krayken was part of the original group of Skylanders designed for Skylanders: ShapeShifters, the game that would eventually become Skylanders: Swap Force. He was paired with Aftershock and the unnamed Bird Skylander during the game's early pitch. Krayken possessed electrical abilities and had a sentient fish head as his left arm to trap enemies with bubbles, but during kid testing, it was discovered that the character looked unfitting for the franchise, and his bubble mechanic was too confusing as a non-damaging move.[1]

Krayken's design was later scrapped following feedback from the kid playtesters and Activision, but his bubble and electrical abilities was implemented into the new SWAP Force leader Wash Buckler and core Skylander Punk Shock[1], and his design was revamped into his successor, Rip Tide. Although he never made it into the final game, Krayken made small cameos later in the Skylanders series.
