Cynder is a violet dragoness Skylander in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. She is of the Undead element.

Personality

Cynder was raised and trained under the control of the Undead Dragon King, Malefor, spreading fear throughout Skylands for years. After finally being defeated and freed from Malefor's control by Spyro, Cynder desires to redeem herself for all the things she had done while under Malefor's influence by using her dark powers to battle evil. Despite that however, she can still be a little menacing, causing most of the Skylanders to try and keep a safe distance from Cynder just in case.

Abilities

Due to her exposure to the darkness of Malefor's corruption, Cynder gained abilities that are related to the elements of Undead, such as breathing dark electricity and temporarily turning into her shadow form to dash past enemies, leaving behind a trail of ghostly allies in her wake that will harm her foes.

Being a dragon, Cynder also has the ability to fly using her wings.

Biography

While just an egg, Cynder was stolen by the henchmen of an evil dragon named Malefor and raised to do his bidding. For years, she spread fear throughout the land until she was defeated by Spyro the Dragon and freed from the grip of Malefor. But dark powers still flow through her, and despite her desire to make amends for her past, most Skylanders try to keep a safe distance… just in case.

Powers and Upgrades

Starting Powers

• Spectral Lightning (Primary Power): Press and hold your primary power button to shock enemies with bolts of lightning.
• Shadow Dash (Secondary Power): Dash forward in shadow form. Ghost allies are summoned in your wake.

Basic Upgrades

• Cynder Flight (500): Press the button to fly.
• Black Lightning (700): Spectral Lightning does increased damage.
• Double Spooky! (900): Ghosts do increased damage.
• Shadow Reach (1200): Shadow Dash range is increased.

Nether Welder Path

• Unstable Forces (1700): Hitting a ghost with Spectral Lightning makes it explode, damaging enemies.
• Breath Control (2200): Spectral Lightning hold duration is increased.
• Breath of Power (3000): Spectral Lightning damages enemies in a larger area.

Shadowdancer Path

• Death Bound (1700): Enemies hit by ghosts move slower.
• Ghost Haunter (2200): Ghosts last longer and have a greater attack range.
• Shadow Strike (3000): Shadow Dash does damage to enemies.

Super Soul Gem Upgrade

• Haunted Ally (4000): A ghost ally travels with you and damages enemies.

• Cynder's appearance is similar to her Legend of Spyro counterpart.
• She is the third dragon Skylander who can speak english (the other two being Spyro and Zap).
  • Cynder is the only talking Skylander so far who doesn't say her official catchphrase, 'Volts and Lightning'.
• Cynder is confirmed to be one of the characters getting a redesign for Skylanders: Giants, also having a larger Undead pedestal.
