A Lockmaster Puzzle

Lock Puzzles are minigames in the Skylanders series that consists of moving the Lockmaster Imps onto the tumblers of the locks in order to open gates, or uniting creatures known as Shock and Bolt to disable door.

Puzzles

  • Regular - Used in Spyro's Adventure and Giants. The only major mechanic in this version was the existence of tubes that allowed the Imp to travel to other parts of the lock.
  • Shock and Bolt - This version from Swap Force is significantly different from the other puzzles. In it, the player can switch from Shock and Bolt to activate color-coded switches and mechanisms, and it also included additional collectibles that grant treasure.
  • Jetpack Imp - This version is used in Trap Team. Though the appearance is similar to the regular lock puzzles, the Imp will always travel in a straight line to the other end of the lock, unless there are ramps or fire. Fire will instantly reset the puzzle, unless the Imp collects a water drop before passing through it.
  • Livewire Lock - This SuperChargers version of the lock puzzle instead has the Imp atop a small vehicle, that has a significant amount of momentum, and various puzzles built around pushing him fast enough over gaps or obstacles. Like Shock and Bolt, it has additional collectibles.
  • Sensei Imp - This version from Imaginators is also very distinct from the regular puzzle, as the player can only move full rows of the lock. The Imp must reach the gong without touching fire or the Imp of an opposing color, that can be defeated with a dagger power-up. Its gems allow for the player to get an Imaginite Chest when collected together.
