Trine is a anthropomorphic triceratops who appeared in Tri and Tri Again. He is one of Tri-Tip's former students who was notably mentioned to have been given the Golden Walnut by his master.
Story
While in possession of the Golden Walnut, Trine was attacked by Broccoli Guy, who swiped the walnut from the young dinosaur and retreated. Trine quickly went to Skylanders Academy to search for his master Tri-Tip, but wound up causing a commotion searching for him. This prompted Legendary Spyro to swoop in and take Trine away from the Academy, where he calmed down and explained to Legendary Spyro of his plight. They were able to find Tri-Tip on one of his patrols and Trine reported to his master that he lost the Golden Walnut to Broccoli Guy. Tri-Tip scolded Trine for his failure, but was calmed down by Legendary Spyro. After resolving to retrieve the Golden Walnut, Trine accompanied Legendary Spyro and Tri-Tip to Broccoli Guy's hideout at Chompy Mountain.
There, they discovered the vegetable villain was attempting to crack open the Golden Walnut with his Slobber Trap minions but was unsuccessful. As Legendary Spyro and Tri-Tip fought Broccoli Guy's minions, Trine was instructed to stay put. During the scuffle, Broccoli Guy swallowed the Golden Walnut and its powers granted him an immense power boost and transformed him into Steamed Broccoli Guy. Knowing that it was his responsibility for the theft of the Walnut, Trine entered the battle and saved Tri-Tip from Steamed Broccoli Guy's grasp. With Tri-Tip's teachings, Trine focused his might into a single charge and rammed headfirst into the villain, causing Broccoli Guy to cough out the Golden Walnut and revert him back to normal.
With Broccoli Guy defeated, Tri-Tip realized their victory was the result of learning from Trine. He gave back the Golden Walnut to his student, convinced that he earned it and knowing one day Trine will discover its secret.

- Being a triceratops like his master, Trine shares the same character design as Tri-Tip.
