Unlike most enemies with two attacks, Troll Stompers seem to do their attacks at random - shooting and a jump stomping attack, hence the name.

Game description.

Troll Stomper M5s are large, Troll-driven robots piloted by Mace Majors. They are almost identical to the Gun Snouts from Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure in both appearance and general combat style.

Troll Stompers attack by shooting at the Skylanders and then jumping into the air and performing a stomping attack, hence the name. The Troll Stomper M5's bullets deal low damage in high succession, and they will stomp before shooting, which causes knockback. When the Troll Stomper M5 is defeated, the piloting Mace Major will exit the robot and begin attacking. Ranged attacks are most effective against them, as the stomp attack can knock the Skylanders back.

Trivia

  • They share some similarities with Chompy Bot 9000s, as both are enemy-piloted robots that shoot, perform stomp attacks, and, when destroyed, cause the pilot to emerge and start attacking the Skylanders.
  • In alpha builds of Giants, Troll Stomper M5s were named "Troll Tech Mech", are broken and could only aim in one direction.[1]
