As the Skylanders games were released on many different consoles of varying technological limitations, they have had level design, character design and story changed to fit various restrictions.

Skylanders Spyros Adventure

As it was first designed as a Wii game, Spyros Adventure faces less variation than the other games

XPEC

Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 edition did support 1080i output, which the Wii edition was not designed for as it could only natively ouput up to 480p

Nintendo 3DS

From its portable form factor, the premise of the characters from the figures on Earth being transported to Skylands was changed to temporalily keep the scanned figures and change them any time in-game.
