SkyPhone
Role: Communicator
First Appearance: Skylanders Unite!

The SkyPhone is a mobile device used by various characters in Skylanders Academy.

Design

The overall look of a SkyPhone can be determined by the owner, either in a "standard design", or a "custom design" (a prominent customized example is Golden Queen's) but they all share the same size, shape, simplistic design and a large, oval-shaped screen.

Features

Master Eon answering a call from Hugo via video chat

Each SkyPhone shares the same basic features of real-life smartphones: they are capable of calling someone, taking photos, downloading apps and sending text messages.

Unlike real-life smartphones, a SkyPhone can be used to answer a call in the form of "video chat", in which it produces a globe that allows the caller and the receiver to chat face-to-face.

Also, an owner can focus their powers through them to attack the receiver (best demonstrated by Golden Queen in Return to Cynder, where she focus her powers into her phone and [as revealed at the end of the episode] turns Hugo into a gold statue).

Vulnerabilities

In It Techs Two, the SkyPhones are just as affected by the mysterious virus that's causing all other technology to malfunction.

Trivia

  • Although Golden Queen owns a gold-colored version of the standard version, it is only seen in Season 2, as in Beard Science, she owns a standard-colored version.
  • The name "SkyPhone" is a parody of Apple's "iPhone", though it has yet-to-be stated in the show.
    • The name comes from Touch of Evil (more specifically, from the scene where Claire scolds her husband for thinking that he can wipe Malefore's ransom message out of view like an app on his "SkyPad" [which is an obvious parody of Apple's "iPad"]).
  • The ringtone that plays when receiving a call is the intro theme of Skylanders Academy.
  • The size and shape of the screen is exactly the image boarder of the Skystones featured in Skylanders: SuperChargers.
