Fairies are one of the many notable species in Skylands. They had been friends with the Skylanders for as long as anyone can remember. This is possibly because fairies can turn treasure into upgrade magic that grant the Skylanders new abilities, powers, and also fresh breath. In Return of the Dragon King, the reverse was shown, as Calliope could remove a Skylander's upgrades and bestow that ability upon a crystal.

- Fairies might be believed by some people to be greedy, as in Spell Punk Library, Pomfrey remarks in a disapproving tone that they'll only accept "cold, hard cash" to help the Skylanders.
- Persephone is the only known fairy to have trouble speaking in English, as she is used to speaking the Fairy language.
