The Chest of Exile is a chest that was created by the Arkeyans to imprison Captain Frightbeard and his pirate crew of the Phantom Tide 10,000 years ago, with Frightbeard's sword serving as the chest's lock. However, Frightbeard managed to escape his prison and aims to find the Chest to free his pirate fleet to resume his terror upon Skylands.
