Gryphons, or Griffins, are a large species of bird and lion hybrid in the Skylanders franchise. They are known for their spotted eggs and habit of making nests on high ground. A griffin named Sonic Boom and her hatchlings are part of the Skylanders.
Notably, Rainbow Gryphons live in the Rainbow Gryphon Nature Reserve, rarely laying eggs and are sought out by Trolls who want them for their Evil Zoo of Terrible Conditions.

Trivia
- Though Sonic Boom's ears are exactly the same as that of Gryphon hatchlings, adult Rainbow Gryphons have fluffy ears that point upward.
