Help:Uploading Images

After clicking the "Upload file" link on the bottom left of the screen, you are taken to the page where you can upload an image to the wiki.

Summary

It is highly recommend that you fill out the Aboutfile template to tell what the image is about. Fill out at least numbers 1 and 2 when uploading cropped and uncropped game screenshots.

When it comes to artwork, #1, 2, 3 are recommended so that users will know who the artist is and where the original image came from.

Licensing

Each image you upload can fall under a License category that you can carefully pick from the Licensing options.

• If you are uploading a full screenshot from a Skylander game, use the "Video game screenshot" license.
• If you are uploading a sprite ripped from the game, use the "Video game sprite" license.
• If you are uploading a preview from a Skylanders IDW comic, use "Comic page preview".

Categories

When uploading your image, be sure to add categories to help users find specific images. When the image focuses on a specific character in a full screenshot, include the category of the character.

For example, a game screenshot featuring Flynn can be categorized as:

If the screenshot features a couple of characters, like Spyro, Stealth Elf and Gill Grunt in Skylanders: Imaginators, add these categories:

[[Category:Spyro]]
[[Category:Stealth Elf]]
[[Category:Gill Grunt]]
[[Category:Skylanders: Imaginators game screenshots]]

When a screenshot from a Skylanders game is cropped to focus on a specific thing or character, it can be put as "images" instead of "game screenshots". For example, a cropped screenshot from Skylanders: Giants can be put under the name category:

[[Category:Skylanders: Giants images]]

For full screenshots from Skylanders Academy (TV series), it is highly recommend that you put the season number and episode. For example, Return to Cynder is episode 3 in season 2. A screenshot from Return to Cynder features Spyro and Cynder. So the following category for a screenshot of that episode is:

[[Category:Cynder (Skylanders Academy)]]
