Skylanders Wiki:Forked from Fandom

Today, as of May 24, 2025, the Skylanders Fandom Wiki has moved from Fandom to this independent wiki hosting site. All articles and their edit histories from editors have been moved to this wiki.

Why did we Migrate?

It was not an easy decision. The repeated actions of Fandom has made managing and browsing the Skylanders Wikia and other related wikis difficult.

These include:

• Intrusive ads invading the articles
• Fandom implementing unnecessary layout and programming changes
• Fandom having full control over the wiki community and adding community/corporate changes without consenting to wiki admins. So if they decide to add something or make changes on a fandom wiki you run in a pursuit of profit, they will do it whether you like it or not. Your disagreement nor feedback won't matter to them.
• Limited options for admins and editors
• Terrible browsing experience, especially on mobile

The Fandom site staff do not take the interest of their userbase to heart, not caring if the additions they force upon their users are a hindrance to their communities. When other wikis started moving away from them, Fandom started using intimidation tactics to scare their communities into remaining on their site. This is mainly one of the reasons why we finally decided to move away from Fandom's grip and preserve every Skylander fan's hard work on there to where it's more manageable, user-friendly and owned by the fanbase.

How you can help

Per Fandom site rules and policies, the Skylander fandom wiki will remain open, since Fandom does not allow their wikis to close in order to stay on top of search results. It will no longer be managed nor moderated by Skylander fans and will likely be given ownership to a random Fandom staff member who has no knowledge on the Skylanders brand. The Fandom wiki is corporate-owned, and any wikis made on their platform is owned by them. All of the wiki articles and content from the Skylanders Fandom Wiki have been exported and is in the process of being moved to our new home here.

With the forking now in progress, users are free to help out in editing the articles and uploading missing images at the new location here.

In order for this indie Skylanders Wiki to overtake the fandom wiki in SEO (Search Engine Optimization), we ask for you to not go to any of the Fandom Skylanders Wiki pages from now on and instead direct your attention and efforts to the articles here. This means do not use nor edit any of the Fandom Skylanders Wiki pages from now on, for we will not be managing the articles there any longer and our focus will be directed to the independing Skylanders Wiki here.

• No vandalizing the Skylanders Fandom Wiki. Doing this will not help us, as simply editing the Fandom articles will keep them at the top of the search results in SEO. The vandalisms will only be easily reverted back by any available Fandom staff, who will be appointed to only stand by and keep the wiki running.
• Do not click on any links or pages that will lead to the Skylanders Fandom Wiki pages.
• Do not continue editing the articles on skylanders.fandom.com, even when new content is announced.
• Replace your Bookmarks and Search History with the skylanderswiki.com site instead.
• Use IndieWikiBuddy, a browser extension that allows you to easily find and support independent wikis.
• Spread the word to online communities that the Skylanders Fandom Wiki has moved and is now on its own site.
