Tread Head is one of the Tech Skylanders introduced in Skylanders: Trap Team.

Background

Personality

Tread Head prefers substance over style. It's what inside that matters the most. The outside is just for show.

Biography

As an orphan from the Dizzying Dunes, Tread Head had always dreamed of racing. And after a summer of scavenging for parts, he finally managed to build a bike that would allow him to enter the local racing circuit. The other competitors laughed at the crudeness of his work, but Tread Head had built it for performance, not for style. So when the race began, he jumped out to a commanding lead. But as he entered a canyon, he suddenly found himself at a roadblock – of Goblin troops! Knowing the other racers were in danger, he pulled off the road and kicked up so much dust that the Goblins had no choice but to flee, allowing the other racers to pass safely. Tread Head may have lost the race that day, but he earned the respect of Master Eon, who would see to it that Tread Head would tread on evil wherever he goes!

Wheelie		Backfire Blast				Rocket Boost
Primary Ability Press Attack 1 to speed up and pop a wheelie right through enemies.		Secondary Ability Press Attack 2 to shoot enemies behind you with backfire from your cycle.				Price: 4000 Once you hit maximum speed in Wheelie Mode, press Attack 3 to rocket boost off of a ramp.
Basic Upgrades Skylanders can buy new abilities from Persephone/Power Pods.

Price: 500 Perform the Wheelie attack for longer.		Price: 700 Press Attack 3 for a spin attack - any damage you take while spinning is cut in half.		Price: 900 Bigger treads equals bigger damage from the Wheelie attack.		Price: 1200 Spin out attack does extra damage around a larger area.

Price: 1700 Enemies hit by the Spin out attack are slowed down by a dust cloud.		Price: 2200 In Wheelie Mode, make tight turns to spray enemies with dirt and rocks.		Price: 3000 Spin out attack goes so fast that it sets the ground on fire.

Starting Powers

• Steamroll Smash (Primary Attack): Hold (Y) to jump forward and roll over anything in range.
• Exhaust Blast (Secondary Attack): Press (X) to shoot fire from the exhaust.

Upgrades

• Full Steamroll Smash (requires level: 3): Steamroll now has 4 levels. Releasing the button with the right timing will do a front flip for extra damage. Releasing too late will have the bike fall backwards.
• Flame Circle (requires level: 6): Repeatedly press (Y) to spin frantically, and eventually trigger a flamethrower.
• Rocket (requires level: 9): Hold (X) to charge-up then release to shoot forward like a rocket and damage everything ahead.

Trivia

• Tread Head is one of the few Skylanders who aren't Superchargers but use vehicles as weapons (other examples are Sprocket and Fryno). However, he is the first and currently the only one to never get off his ride.
• He and High Five both have a racing theme.
• The only time he is seen out of his vehicle is in his rest cutscene, where he gets out as it breaks down.
• In Skylanders: SuperChargers, if you put him in another Vehicle, he will get out of his own bike and drive the vehicle he is driving.
• Tread Head shares many physical similarities with Air Strike, including proportions, stature and facial features.
• If Tread Head jumps while in wheelie mode, he’ll do a backflip with his bike.
• When given a hat, it appears much smaller on him compared to on other Skylanders. This is most likely to avoid having it clip through his bike.
• Unlike other playable characters, when the player stops moving the control stick, Tread Head won’t stop moving right away, as he has to slow his bike to a stop.
• However, if the player presses the jump button, moves the control stick in the direction they want to go, then lets go before Tread Head hits the ground, he will land in place, just like every other playable character.
