Core Skylander

Core Skylanders are basic Skylanders that don't belong to any gimmick (Giants, SWAP Force, Trap Team, SuperChargers, Senseis). The original 32 Skylanders in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure are notably Core Skylanders.

In addition, there are 8 new Core Skylanders in Skylanders: Giants, 16 in Skylanders: Swap Force, and 18 in Skylanders: Trap Team. Skylanders: SuperChargers and Skylanders: Imaginators do not have any new Core Skylanders.

• The term "Core Skylanders" might be in reference to the fact that the original 32 Core Skylanders were known to defend the Core of Light, with other Core Skylanders like Spotlight being confirmed to have been training to defend the Core as well. However, as not all Core Skylanders were known to defend the Core of Light, this could just be a coincidence.
