Slobber Tooth is a turtle dinosaur who is one of the Earth Core Skylanders in Skylanders: Swap Force.

Character Development

During development, Slobber Tooth originally was a two-headed, small-winged dragon from the Magic element, and his name was a combination of the name of each head: "Slobber" for the eye-eyed head and "Tooth" for the tuft-eared left head. Slobber and Tooth soon evolved into the Earth element, with differing horn configurations, until finally the heads and names were combined into one Slobber Tooth.

Background

Personality

Slobber Tooth is a gruff and headstrong fighter. Even though he was offered great power, he turned that down in order to follow his own path. He doesn't consider himself as a thinker to defeat Kaos's minions, but only uses his head, literally. If in doubt, Slobber Tooth will head-butt something. Or tail-thwap it. Or bite it. Or sometimes all three! He is also a ravenous eater.

Biography

Having been asleep for thousands of years, Slobber Tooth was awakened by the fiery eruption of two volcanic islands crashing together. Immediately sought out by Kaos to become one of his minions, Slobber Tooth was promised great power. But the gruff and headstrong fighter chose to follow his own path instead. For this, Kaos attacked his ancient petrified homeland. As the only one who could protect his hibernating race, Slobber Tooth fought tooth and tail against Kaos and his minions, ultimately driving them away. For his heroism, Master Eon asked Slobber Tooth to join the Skylanders, where he could continue defending Skylands against the evil Kaos.

Story

History

An ancient earth beast, Slobber Tooth slumbered for thousands of years until he was awakened by two volcanic islands crashing into each other. The evil Portal Master Kaos sought him out and offered Slobber Tooth a place among his minions with the promise of great power. The turtle dinosaur rejected the offer, and in response, Kaos attacked Slobber Tooth's homeland that still housed the rest of his hibernating race. This caused Slobber Tooth to clobber Kaos and his minions into next week; his heroic deed earning him a place among the Skylanders.

Trigger Happy Targets the Evil Kaos

Slobber Tooth took part in the desperate attempt to protect the Core of Light from Kaos, who absorbed the powers of the Skylanders using the Mask of Power.

Gameplay

Slobber Tooth attacks his enemies with his armored head and slamming his spiked tail to create a shockwave. He can also bite his opponents with his slobbery mouth, even grab them and spit them out at other enemies. Further upgrades regarding Food Fighter path will allow Slobber Tooth to swallow enemies to recover health.

Starting Powers

• Prehistoric Chomp (Primary Attack): Press (Y) to headbutt and bite your enemies. Hold (Y) to inhale smaller enemies. While an enemy is in Slobber Tooth's mouth, press (Y) to spit out the enemy, drenching nearby fores in saliva that slows them down.
• Tail Slam (Secondary Attack): Press (X) to slam down your tail, damaging nearby enemies in a large area.

Upgrades

• Batter-Up! (requires level: 3): While an enemy is in Slobber Tooth's mouth, press (X) to spit the enemy upwards and perform a Tail Spin that bats the enemy away at high velocity.
• Part of a Balanced Diet (requires level: 6): Hold (Y) to inhale smaller enemies. While an enemy is in Slobber Tooth's mouth, continue holding (Y) to chew on the enemy, dealing minor damage and healing Slobber Tooth. Press (Y) again to spit it out.
• Going Up! (requires level: 9): After performing a Tail Slam, hold (X) to dig Slobber Tooth's tail deep into the ground. Release (X) to fire a giant boulder up into the air that will land on a nearby enemy.

Trivia

• Slobber Tooth is the second dinosaur and turtle while Dino-Rang and Warnado, respectively, are the first.
• It takes Slobber Tooth almost an hour a day to keep his teeth in tip-top condition. This is partly because his fangs are so large and prominent, and partly because it's quite difficult to hold a toothbrush with those hands. Or claws. Or whatever they are.
• Being a dinosaur, he most closely resembles the Ankylosaurus, which was known for its heavily armored body and its thick-ended tail, which, like Slobber Tooth, could swing as a club. He also resembles the Doedicurus, a prehistoric armadillo species.
• He, Wrecking Ball, Thumpback, Gusto, and The Gulper can eat their enemies.
• He and Bash are the only Skylanders that use spikes to attack in the Earth Element.
• In his Short Cut, Slobber Tooth finds microphones delicious.
• On the Swap Force 3DS character poster, his name was misspelled as "Slobbler Tooth".
• His name may have been a play on "Saber Tooth".
