Fryno is a bipedal Fire rhinoceros in Skylanders: Swap Force. His Series 2 counterpart from Trap Team is named Hog Wild Fryno.
Background
Development
Fryno was originally conceived as a much larger, bulkier rhinoceros with a pair of long horns. Alternative concept art depicts him wielding a pickaxe, pliers, and/or a flamethrower. Developer Adam Olshan described Fryno, "It's as if the Fonz lost his cool ALL THE TIME... and he's a rhino."[2]
Personality
Fryno is hot on honesty. In fact, liars and cheats make him flaming mad![3] He possesses a short temper, but is trying to keep his anger in check.
Biography
Fryno was once a member of the notorious Blazing Biker Brigade and spent most of his youth riding around Skylands with the rest of his crew. But what Fryno did not realize was that, while he enjoyed a life of freedom and adventure, his crew was responsible for acts of burglary throughout Skylands. When Fryno discovered that he had been riding around with a bunch of villains, he burned with rage and demanded that they make amends for the wrong they had done. This resulted in an epic fight, which Fryno won, and the disbanding of the Blazing Biker Brigade. Fryno was in the midst of returning the valuables his crew had stolen when he met Master Eon, who was impressed with his good character and fighting abilities, and offered him a membership to a new crew -- the Skylanders.
Story
History
For years, Fryno roared across Skylands as a member of the Blazing Biker Brigade, enjoying a life of freedom and adventure. When he realized that his friends were a right shower of wrong'uns who were responsible for Skylands' biggest ever crime wave, he demanded they make amends for their wicked deeds. A battle ensued, during which Fryno taught the bikers some painful lessons about honesty. Impressed by his noble heart, Master Eon invited Fryno to join a new gang - the Skylanders.[4]

Starting Powers
- Biker Brawl (Primary Attack): Press (Y), (Y), (Y), (Y) to perform a four hit melee combo.
- Road Rage (Secondary Attack): Hold (X) to smash the ground, dealing damage to nearby enemies.
- Hot Hands (requires level: 3): While holding (X), Fryno's horn and fists will begin to heat up, causing Fryno to deal increased damage for a time.
- Born to Ride (requires level: 6): While springint (A), Fryno will ride his wild hog, dealing damage to all enemies in his path. When sprint ends, Fryno will launch his hog forward, damaging enemies it comes in contact with.
- Piston Punching (requires level: 9): Hold (Y) to perform a series of rapid punch attacks.

- Fryno was considered for the SuperChargers character lineup at some point in development of Skylanders: SuperChargers.[5]
- Fryno's name is a combination of "fry" and "rhino."
- Fryno bears a resemblance to Rhino from Marvel.
- Additionally, in the "Ultimate Spider-Man" episode "Return of the Sinister 6", Rhino had armor with a track used by vehicles on his back, allowing him to perform an attack similar to Fryno's "The Horn and The Hog" attack.
- Fryno, along with Gorm and Tuk are three of the few characters in Skylanders who are pachyderms.
- Fryno is the only pachyderm to be a Skylander.
- One of the names of Fryno's upgrade paths is called Brawler, which is also the name of one of Terrafin's upgrade paths.
- This would later become the name of a Sensei Battle Class in Skylanders: Imaginators.
- According to his Short Cut, due to his short temper, Fryno goes to anger management lessons.
- Fryno is one of the few Skylanders who uses a vehicle for an attack (others who do this include Sprocket and Hot Head).
- Coincidentally, both he and Hot Head are of the Fire element.

- Fryno is voiced by Robert Cait, who also voices the Colossus from the X-Men animated series, Mr. Wilter from Chalk Zone and the second voice of Norm the Genie from The Fairly Odd Parents.
- Cait is the one of the two voice actors of Norm the Genie to have a role in Skylanders (another being the late Norm MacDonald who also voices Glumshanks in the Skylanders Academy TV series).
- His personality is very similar to Flame Princess from Adventure Time.
- Coincidentally, both control the element of fire.
- Fryno has some similarities to Yang Xiao-Long, one of the main characters in the American animated web series RWBY. Both are associated with fire, use a combat style revolving around punching with their main weapons being gauntlets, possess incredibly short tempers, and are bikers.
- He is the only core Skylander from Swap Force to get a Series 2 in Trap Team.
- This possibly is because Swap Force was developed by another company.
- Additionally, he and Roller Brawl are the only Swap Force-debuting core Skylanders to receive new reposed figures in its sequels.
- Fryno's (and Small Fry's) The Horn and The Hog attack makes him one of the fastest Skylanders in the series, even surpassing Drobot's Thruster Flight.
- A skin texture map of Fryno was leaked in the 1.0 version of Skylanders: Ring of Heroes, but he never appeared in the final game.
- In Skylanders: Swap Force, Fryno's blazing bike can launch him straight over gaps that would otherwise have to be jumped.
- In the Xbox 360 version of Skylanders: Trap Team, Fryno shoots out a blazing bike whenever he falls off a ledge. This is probably a glitch.
