The Frostfest Mountains is a cold, remote region of the Cloudbreak Islands. It is home to Yetis and the Ancient Frosthound.

Each year, the Yetis of the Frostfest Mountains celebrate the eruption of the Mount Cloudbreak by hosting a festival. Although no one ever told them that the eruption comes only once every hundred years, no harm is done since the Yetis wouldn't be able to see it anyways through the never ending blizzard.

Description

Frostfest Mountains takes place in a tempestuous blizzard within a snowy range, covered in snow-laden pine trees, partially-frozen rivers, and heavy white fog. Yeti villages provide festive respites from the blizzard, sporting bright lanterns and cozy wooden homes. Moonlight illuminates the mountains, and during the blizzard, the level's sky is a stormy gray-blue color. However, when the Illuminator temporarily dispels the blizzard's fog, the sky becomes a lighter blend of violet and peach colors,

Trivia

  • Slushville has a Yeti named Klizzy that collects bears that are wearing hats from Skylands.
  • A strange bit of level geometry exists at the beginning of Frostfest Mountains. If you walk toward the camera alongside Sharpfin's ship, you'll come to an invisible wall next to a pine tree; if you jump forward, you will land on a small invisible ledge floating in the air.
  • If you double back into the Yeti villages after continuing past the Spark Locks, the village music will not play.
  • On the path just ahead and to the left of where Mesmeralda's first bomb appears, falling off the side of the level results in a splash and a frozen respawn effect as if the player fell into water, even though the edge of the path contains nothing but sky.
  • The beginning of Frostfest Mountains plays a remix of Glacier Gully's theme.
  • In Swap Force's alpha build, Frostfest Mountains was called Blizzfest 2013.[1]
  • According to Alpha build dialogue, the Skylanders would originally encounter a Yeti mystic called the "Myst Yeti" who told them to "beware the blizzard." and referred to the summit of the mountain as the "Great Peak." In the alpha level, gathering Yeti teddies by playing games would have been mandatory in order to collect a gate key.[2]
