Early, alternate concepts of Scratch depict her unmasked, wearing various headdresses, holding a magical scepter or dagger with her tail, or armed with a pair of giant horns. She originally wore a curving headpiece and blue-clawed, blue-jeweled gloves. Later designs leave her face and blue eyes visible, with her color schemes alternating between white, violet, blue, and gold.[3]
Personality
Scratch is a natural explorer, having investigated the crystal mines of her mountain home for days on end. She's still adventurous to this day.[4]
Biography
High in the peaks of Cats Eye Mountain sits a towering city of crystal and gold that can only be reached by creatures of the Air element. It was here that Scratch spent her youth soaring playfully in the clouds or exploring the endless number of crystal mines. One day, an army of PirateGreebles arrived in a fleet of airships, looking to steal ancient magic crystals buried deep in the mountain. Donning specially made armor, Scratch led an epic battle against the pirates, using her incredible fighting skills to defend the crystals and the city. Tales of her heroism soon made their way to Jet-Vac, who traveled to Cats Eye Mountain and recruited Scratch to the Skylanders.
Story
History
Born in a city of crystal and gold atop Cats Eye Mountain, the young Scratch loved soaring through the sky and searching through the many gemstone mines. Her idyllic life was shattered when a band of Pirate Greebles invaded in their fleet of flying warships, plotting to steal the magical gems that lied deep inside the mountain. Donning her golden armor, some sharp claws and a nasty temper, Scratch led the counter-attack against the invaders for days on end. Although she was fast and powerful, the sheer number of the villains threatened to overwhelm her. Until that is, she realized their airships were built around enormous balloons. A few carefully aimed claw slashes later, and the pirates were sent plummeting back back down to earth. From that day to this, no Greeble has dared return to Cats Eye Mountain, and the city is safe once more. Scratch's heroic deed caught the eye of Jet-Vac, who invited her to join the Skylanders.
Under Knight Light's command, Scratch participated with the other Skylanders in defending Skylanders Academy from Kaos and his aerial armada.
Gameplay
Scratch's golden suit of enchanted armor comes equipped with moveable lasers that come from the crystal atop of her mask. The crystal claws of her gauntlets are able to cut through virtually any substance, from solid rock to hardened steel, meaning there are few enemies who can stand up to a scratching from Scratch.[5] When further upgraded, Scratch can regain health by collecting treasure.
When imbued with the power of rubies, Scratch can fight more offensively. Her upgrades range from an increase in critical hit percentage, to better and more powerful attacks. Her laser ability now has much better area of affect and she gains a new attack that allows her to deal lots of damage in quick bursts to a single enemy.
When imbued with the power of sapphires, Scratch can fight more defensively. Now she can gain a boost to her speed as well as improved abilities that pertain to keeping her safe from enemies. Her laser attack can slow enemies that are struck by it, and she can unleash a whirlwind that sucks in enemies and immobilizes them briefly.
Price: 500 Press Attack 3 to dodge an attack and knock away all enemies in an area around you.
Price: 700 Gain new silver claws that deal increased damage!
Price: 900 Hold Attack 3 to pull enemies into a massive whirlwind and do damage to all of them caught inside.

Skylanders can use abilities depending on their level.
Starting Powers
Claw Swipe (Primary Attack): Press (Y) to perform a claw swipe attack.
Laser Pounce (Secondary Attack): Hold (X) to shoot a laser that can be moved around and damage enemies. When (X) is released, Scratch will pounce to that location doing additional damage to nearby enemies.
Upgrades
Flying Tornado (requires level: 3): Hold (Y) to create a suction tornado. The tornado will pull enemies closer and damage them. When completed, Scratch will finish with a final explosion that damages nearby enemies.
Laser Pull (requires level: 6): The beam for Laser Pounce (X) will now pull enemies closer and deal increased damage.
Claw Dash (requires level: 9): Hold (A) while not moving to crouch into an attack stance. When fully crouched push the Circle Pad in any direction to start sprinting into a claw spin that damages enemies.

Scratch resembles Nefertimon, a Digivolution form of Gatomon from the Digimon franchise.
Her catchphrase is a pun on the saying "the luck of the draw".
Scratch's voice actress, Kathryn "Kat" Cressida, is also the voice actress of Dee Dee from Dexter's Laboratory during Seasons 2 and 4.
Scratch is one of the few Skylanders who are able to heal themselves without eating food (others include characters like Wrecking Ball, Stealth Elf, Camo and Slobber Tooth).
One of her upgrades, Whirlwing, alludes to whirlwinds.
It also happen to be a pun on another Air Skylander, Whirlwind.
Like Sunburn and Flashwing, Scratch doesn't possess a Flight upgrade despite having wings, although she does fly while performing her attacks.
In her magic moment, Scratch briefly chases after a moving laser pointer, a common trait shared by felines who love chasing after moving shiny objects.
Scratch was originally called "Masquerade".
Scratch is one of few Air Skylanders without a blue-centered color scheme. Others include Swarm and Sonic Boom.
She is currently the only quadruped female Skylander to have visible teeth (not counting Cynder's appearance in the Skylanders Academy TV series).
She, Flameslinger, and Freeze Blade are the only three Skylanders that wear masks over their eyes.
Despite being revealed as a Feathercat in Imaginators, she was originally referred as a Sphynx by the official Skylanders Facebook and Twitter pages.[6]
One of her quotes, "A hat fit for a cat!" may be a reference to Dr. Seuss and one of his stories, The Cat in the Hat.
