Luminous is a ruthless villain of Light, willing to achieve whatever means necessary to extinguish the darkness, even if it meant annihilating anyone who stands in his way. He greatly fears the darkness, even his own shadow.

Luminous can summon rays of light and call upon large crystal shards from above. He also possesses the ability to shapeshift, which helps him disguise his voice to match the one he has taken the form of.
Story
History
Being from the element of Light, Luminous has always feared the dark. Even his own shadow used to frighten him. So he became determined to find the source of light so intense that no amount of darkness could exist in its presence. This quest drove him glaringly mad and he set out to destroy all who opposed him.
Finding the Radiant City's Starlight, Luminous sought to steal it for himself and attacked the city. The Trap Master, Knight Light, fought the Doom Raider to protect his home realm and was locked in battle with Luminous. After a fight that lasted several days, Knight Light emerged victorious and Luminous was imprisoned within Sunscraper Spire to never again threaten Skylands.

Trivia
- Luminous and Nightshade are the only Doom Raiders who were willingly accept capture after their defeat.
- Many fans assume that Mags was Luminous in disguise all along. However, Luminous only took on the form of the real Mags as soon as she and Skylanders reached Sunscraper Spire. After Luminous is captured, the real Mags is seen at the Skylanders Academy.
