Darkened Destroyers are stronger versions of Iron Equalizers, encountered in the Sky Eater. Darkened Destroyers shoot energy instead of missiles and most of them come in large size, unlike Iron Equalizers which come in rare occasions in large form. They have more health and deal more damage and unlike Iron Equalizers, Darkened Destroyers cannot only be encountered on the ground, but on ceilings aswell. Four Darkened Destroyers appear above the Sky Vehicle Docking Area of the Sky Eater. These have to be taken out in the Sky Vehicle Zone, so that the landing area is safe to land on. Darkened Destroyers are later encountered at the side of the road in the Land Vehicle Zone and in the Land Vehicle combat areas. Smaller Darkened Destroyers appear on some of the shifting walls in the Land Vehicle Zone and above the barricades of the pipes to the Hydra Hatchling in the Sea Vehicle Zone. The Darkened Destroyers on shifting walls can be taken out in one hit. If the barricade under an Darkened Destroyer is destroyed, the Darkened Destroyer gets instantly defeated.
