The Hole Truth is the fifth episode in the Skylanders Academy television series.

Synopsis

The young Skylanders are assigned to spend a day as guards at Cloudcracker Prison, and the inmates try to trick the heroes into letting them escape.

Story

After the events of the previous episode, Team Spyro, Kaos, Glumshanks and Dreamcatcher arrive at the ominous Cloucracker Prison, going through its various entrances. Under the eyes of guards, cameras and crazed prisoners and listening to the Skylanders' odd advice, Glumshanks remarks that the treatment appears inhumane, but Kaos is instead overjoyed, seeing it as an opportunity to make acquaintances with the greatest villains of Skylands. While announcing his plans aloud, however, he and his troll butler have grub thrown at them from over the walls.

Continuity

  • The Skylanders guide Kaos, Glumshanks and Dreamcatcher through the prison to their cells after their capture in the previous episode.
  • Dreamcatcher joins the Doom Raiders.
  • The Doom Raiders use a wormhole to escape the prison and are now at large, and soon after Kaos and Glumshanks escape with them.

Errors & Mistakes

  • The Chef Pepperjack picture at the staff lockers has a graphical glitch, showing an unnatural pattern and incorrect lighting.

Trivia

  • The Gulper was mentioned as the target of Pop Fizz and Jet-Vac's mission.
  • Bird, Bath, and Beyond is play on the store, "Bed, Bath & Beyond", which 8 years later would close down irl.
  • When commenting on Kaos' poorly made tattoo, Glumshanks makes a reference to the movie and internet meme Straight Outta Compton.
  • When Snap Shot and his team of guards descend into the Hole, one of them is stuck on their rope, and appears struggling to fall down in several shots.
  • This is the only episode in Season 1 where Master Eon doesn't make an appearance.
