LightCore Skylander

LightCore Skylanders are playable characters introduced in Skylanders: Giants. The Skylanders are protectors of the Core of Light, and in times of peril, they can call upon its power to ignite their own light from within and radiate with magic, becoming known as LightCore Skylanders.
These characters light up without batteries when placed near the Portal of Power. They have the ability to defeat all surrounding enemies when placed in the game. LightCore Skylanders also have different poses from their regular model. There is a Target-exclusive 3-pack of LightCore Skylanders consisting of Drobot, Prism Break, and Eruptor.

Trivia
- LightCore Figures of Skylanders introduced in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure are compatible with Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure but will not light up in game, due to LightCore being a concept introduced after the game's release.
- No new LightCore Skylanders were introduced after Swap Force.
- However, the Sunscraper Spire and Midnight Museum Expansion Packs are considered LightCore Figures when placed on the Traptanium Portal.
- Light and Dark are the only elements without any LightCore Skylanders.
- LightCore Hex is the only variant of this kind used in Skylanders: Ring of Heroes, replacing her default appearance.
- Additionally, despite not being a LightCore character, Light Hex has an ability that uses its power.
- None of the Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure in the Magic or Life elements have a LightCore counterpart.
- With the exception of Hot Dog, Fright Rider and Sprocket, each of the core Skylanders who first appeared in Giants had a LightCore counterpart.
- In Ring of Heroes, the Light elemental versions of Skylanders from other elements (Light Hex, Light Jet-Vac and Light Flashwing) seem to be based on the LightCore Skylanders. It is a similar case to the Dark elemental versions of Skylanders being based on their dark edition counterparts.
- Flashwing, Wham-Shell and Warnado are the only LightCore Skylanders without an additional counterpart in the Swap Force toyline.
- They are also the only Swap Force-debut LightCore counterparts of Skylanders who had appeared in previous games.
