The Midnight Museum is an Expansion Pack in Skylanders: Trap Team. It introduces the Dark element, and comes with the Dark Trap Master, Knight Mare, and a Dark Trap.

The Midnight Musuem is a museum of Darkness that exhibits many ominous artifacts, including the prized Dark Eye of Tomorrow. It is guarded by Spyclopters, which will transport the Skylander to the nearest drop area if they are caught. The Dark Doom Raider, Nightshade, threatens to steal the Dark Eye from the heavily guarded museum and use it to steal everything in Skylands.

Trivia

  • Statues of the Dark Skylander, Blackout, can be seen throughout the level.
    • The level's Legendary Treasure is based on Blackout.
  • Stone sculptures of Trigger Happy's face can also be seen on the sides of some buildings, although these are more difficult to spot because they're normally hidden in shadow.
  • Despite being revealed after Nightmare Express and Mirror of Mystery, Midnight Museum and Sunscraper Spire are strangely referred to as Chapter 19 and 20.
  • For reasons unknown, the level is seen in the artwork for Sea Shadow (and Dark Sea Shadow), oddly photoshopped to have its dome-like towers facing both ends of the island. Though also seen in Nightfall's full background, only a few towers are visible with their correct appearance.
  • Midnight Museum shares many parallels with Sunscraper Spire, as both levels: They are representative of Trap Team's new Elements (Dark and Light), they contain an Elemental Gate of the opposite Element, they include knight statues, light beam puzzles, and bookshelves inscribed with Ancient runes, and like the Sunscraper Spire, the figure used to represent Midnight Museum appears as part of it (in this instance, it's part of "The Night Tower"). And like Sunscraper Spire, the Midnight Museum toy figure reads as LightCore when placed on the Portal of Power.
  • Midnight Museum shares a searchlight mechanic with Lair of the Golden Queen. However, Cali refers to the Lair's searchlights as "Spy Guys," while Buzz refers to the spotlights in Midnight Museum as "Spyclopters."
  • The developer who created Midnight Museum incorporated several other game influences into the level[1]:
    • The stealth mechanic was heavily inspired by Dishonored.
    • The Magic elemental area recreates the Magic Eye mechanic from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
    • When seen from above, the light/crystal puzzle spells out "ZIM," a character created by the english voice of Kaos.
    • The level contains two area names referencing the developer's World of Warcraft characters, Joyia and Aylis.
