The Wumpan Puzzle Boxes are magical artifacts in Skylanders Academy that hold special items. These boxes open automatically to those who are true of heart. One Wumpan Puzzle Box was previously kept inside the Skylanders Academy Relics Room before being taken by Dark Spyro after he realized the Map to Arkus was kept inside it.
During most of Season 3, Dark Spyro spent most of his time trying to unlock the Wumpan Puzzle Box. However due to his evilness, he was unsuccessful. When Dark Spyro was overcomed with Strykore's evil to destroy Stealth Elf in Off to the Races, Dark Spyro couldn't bring himself to finish her off and was about to throw the Wumpan Puzzle Box overboard from Flynn's ship. The Wumpan Puzzle Box sensed Dark Spyro's act of sparing Stealth Elf and deemed him true of heart, unlocking itself and allowing the dragon access to the Map to Arkus, which was then taken by Kaos.
