Story
Skylanders: Giants
Over 10,000 years ago, Captain Frightbeard terrorized Skylands until the Arkeyans locked him and his pirate crew in the Chest of Exile with Frightbeard's own sword acting as its lock. Having escaped from his imprisonment (many believe he struck a deal for his freedom with an evil sorcerer[1]), Frightbeard sought out to find the Chest of Exile to release his pirate fleet to resume his terror on Skylands. With the help of his lieutenants, he managed to reach the Chest and released his pirate fleet in a vicious malestrom, preparing to resume his terror upon Skylands. Frightbeard was soon confronted and defeated by the Skylanders on board his sheep.
Upon his defeat, Frightbeard's sword flew out of his grip and pierced into the open Chest of Exile, causing the malestrom to suck him and his pirate fleet back within the chest, locking them in once again with Frightbeard's sword serving as the lock.
Skylanders Issue #7

Frigthtbeard managed to once again escape the Chest of Exile and recruited a group of Cyclops Pirates as his crew. He and his pirates began terrorizng a river and ambush any unfortunate ships with the use of a Spell Punk's magic to go undetected. Eventually Frightbeard heard a rumor of a ship holding gold and attackd the vessel Gurglefin, Cali and Flynn were on while enroute to the Wilikin Village to deliver toys. While his crew search the ship, they unlocked a trap door where the Skylanders, Spyro, Jet-Vac, Wallop, Spy Rise and Weeruptor sprang out from. Undetered by the surprise attack, Frightbeard ordered his crew to attack the Skylanders.
It was soon revealed by Wallop that the ship holding gold was actually a rumor spread by Spy Rise to lure Captain Frightbeard and his crew so the Skylanders can take him down. Spyro the Dragon confronted Frightbeard himself and blew a blast of flames on the seadog to defeat him right there and then. However the flames didn't harm Frightbeard, confusing Spyro. Frightbeard laughed at the dragon's attempt and moved in for the kill. Spyro was quickly saved by Spy Rise, and Frightbeard was then knocked out by Wallop, ending the battle.
