Trivia

  • It is possible, through some pushing and well-timed, low-damage knock-back attacks, to push Chompy Pods on to bounce pads, causing them to bounce in the air repeatedly. The same trick can be used to push them off the edge of the world entirely, defeating them instantly.
  • In Giants, Chompy Pods are replaced with Root Runners.
  • Unused red Chompy Pods appear in alpha versions of Giants, where they spawn Enfuego Chompies.[1]
  • In the Strata art book of Swap Force, Chompy Pods appear with a number of alternate concept designs, appearing as leafy plant heads that sprang from the ground. Chompies would then emerge from their vines or from the backs of their heads. More traditional concepts depict Chompy Pods with a variety of elemental color schemes, including one unusual version bulging with yellow orbs.[2]
  • They bear a resemblance to the Xenomorph eggs in the Alien movies.
    • They are also similar to Candypop Buds from Pikmin.
