Arkeyan Ultrons are Arkeyan enemies first encountered in the Molekin Mine, where they are initially trapped in rocks. Once the Skylanders break the rocks around the ultron, they will become active and start drilling through nearby rocks and attack the Skylanders by slamming their appendages down at them. At times, they will throw their appendages up as if charging up, which makes them run faster. Though they deal significant damage, these Arkeyans can be easily defeated using Bombs.

They don’t get a proper introduction until the Quicksilver Vault, where their behavior completely changes. In the vault, they attack by firing rockets from their two appendages. The Ultrons first launches three series of bombs into the air, then fires a tracking beams from its eyes onto the ground. The tracking beams move toward the Skylanders and can cause damage. Once the tracking beam is set, the bombs rain down in three barrages, with each barrage growing larger and forming a circular pattern. Arkeyan Ultrons will put up a energy shield when not using the tracking beams or during the rocket barrage making them invulnerable.

In the Arkeyan Armory, during the War Machine segment, yellow Arkeyan Ultrons appear. These Ultrons attack by shooting blasts from their appendages.

Skylanders: Giants

In Skylanders: Giants, the yellow Arkeyan Ultrons make a reappearance. They are first encountered in the Secret Vault of Secrets as regular enemies when controlling Machine Ghost's War Machine body, attacking by shooting blasts from their appendages.

In Autogyro Adventure, these Ultrons are stationed at required landing areas throughout the level. They attack the Arkeyan Autogyro that Flynn and the Skylander use to navigate the level. The Ultrons move side to side while attacking, and some hide behind stationary energy shields. These shields must either be broken with rockets or the Skylanders must wait until the Ultron moves away from the shield to attack.

Additionally, turret versions of the Arkeyan Ultron emerge from the ground. These turret versions resemble only the body and head portions of the Arkeyan Ultrons from Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. They shoot rockets at the Autogyro and can provide rockets to the Autogyro if defeated.

Skylanders: Lost Islands

In Lost Islands, there is one particular Arkeyan Ultron named Mulch-O-Matic, who is a companion character who removed trees, rocks, weeds and other clutter from the islands.

Trivia

  • They are the only enemies in Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure that aren't introduced when they first appear.
  • The Arkeyan Ultron’s tracking beam has different colors depending on the version. In the Wii version, the tracking beam from their eyes is red, while the circle projected on the ground is blue. In other versions, the beam from the Ultron’s eyes is blue, and the circle on the ground is red.
  • Their later variant in the Magic levels has the most health of any non-boss enemy. It is also the only regular enemy capable of surviving a hit from Bash’s Gaia Hammer attack, though due to a glitch, it will get hit by it a second time almost immediately after the first hit, defeating it, and a critical hit from the attack will still defeat it instantly.
  • They are one of the few enemies that are not introduced in Skylanders: Giants.
  • If you ignore the first Arkeyan Ultron you encounter in Quicksilver Vault and instead take the teleporter and complete the beam puzzles, he will wait there the entire time you’re doing them and will join the fray and attack along with the other enemies that spawn in to impede your progress when you return to the area after completing the puzzles, meaning you will now have to deal with two Arkeyan Ultrons at the same time, or you can kill the Arkeyan Ultron you’re required to kill and leave the other one standing there watching as you collect the Quicksilver and end the level.
  • Drill Sergeant is stated to be an Arkeyan Ultron, despite looking nothing like the Arkeyan Ultrons encountered in the series.
  • There are troll driven mechs called Drill Stompers that have a similar model and attacks, these appear in the 3DS versions of Giants and Swap Force.
    • Arkeyan Ultrons were originally going to appear in the 3DS version of Giants, but were replaced with Drill Stompers. It is unknown if the Arkeyan Ultrons were Placeholders for the Drill Stompers or not.[1]
  • When an enemy Arkeyan War Machine is defeated in Giants, scraps of Arkeyan Ultrons are seen shooting out of the cockpit, implying that they are piloting them.
  • Limbless Arkeyan Ultrons are seen acting as enemy turrets in the Autogyro and War Machine sections of Skylanders: Giants.
  • The Arkeyan Ultrons in Molkekin Mine are first seen with their arms folded up over their bodies until the Skylander approaches, at which point they wake up and start attacking. They have less health then the later ones, don’t have shields, and attack by slamming their arms on the ground, which is the most damaging single attack by any non-boss enemy in Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, dealing a whopping 180 damage if the hit connects.
