Flynn’s Fables

A Brush with Danger

In this story, Flynn summarizes the events of Pop Thorn’s backstory.

Soar Up, Pipe Down

Boom Jet’s neighbors had taken issue with how noisily his jet engine would run, especially as he was flying it during all hours of the night as he trained. Though it seemed like Boom Jet had to put a stop to his nighttime training regime, Boom Jet manages to find a solution by turning off his engine and using it as a glider during the night instead, though nobody knows how he pulled it off.

Free Ranger’s Windy Day

Free Ranger had always loved seeking out and jumping into tornadoes and twisters for fun, but one day, he had done it for heroism. One day, he spied a tornado headed towards a group of Mabu having a picnic, and after stealing their picnic supplies, the tornado had intended to sweep up the Mabu as well—and the Mabu, despite their best efforts to run away, were unable to flee. Just then, Free Ranger jumped into the tornado and steered it away from the Mabu, with the Mabu giving him a picnic basket as a reward.

Hooking Up With Prism Break

In this story, Flynn recounts the story of how he and Prism Break first met. While flying one day, Flynn spied two gigantic diamonds on a rock, and hooked one with his balloon’s anchor. As he was leaving however, Flynn heard angry shouting and looked down to find Prism Break—for as it turned out, the diamonds were actually his crystal arms, and that rock was actually Prism Break himself sleeping after fighting Trollverines.

All at Sea

Across Skylands, there are many sky pirates who go around capturing different creatures and cutting off their horns to sell to those looking to use them for whatever purpose. A particularly nasty group of sky pirates had gained a reputation for this, and had set their sights on Slobber Tooth after catching him during a nap. They kidnap him and take him onto their ship to lob off his horns when he suddenly wakes up, then beats up the pirates and destroys their ship before they could take off.

Test of Strength

Doom Stone and Terrafin want to find out which of them is stronger, and decides to hold a demonstration of strength. It starts with them lifting boulders, with Terrafin lifting it first, then Doom Stone lifting the same boulder with just one hand, then Terrafin lifting the boulder while Doom Stone was lifting it, then Doom Stone juggling both the boulder and Terrafin. With the demonstration being too close a call to decide, Master Eon suggests they arm-wrestle for the title instead. The two end up at a stalemate for four days before they were called away to handle one of Kaos’s schemes, and to this day, nobody knows which of the two is stronger.
