The Mabu Defense Force is a paramilitary group formed by Mabu introduced in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, who are forced to take action when evil threatens their way of life. The army is dedicated to defending other Mabu and the peace. General Robot is the commander of the Mabu Defense Force in Spyro's Adventure, while Buzz commands the group in Skylanders: Trap Team.

Interestingly, for a paramilitary group, the Mabu Defense Force is primarily focused on aiding Skylanders, simply through non-combatant roles, such as being a medic or engineer. This is further emphasized by their practical uselessness during the first game, when the Mabu Defense Force attempts to hold off Trolls, but as they have no weapons, they are easily overrun, forcing for them to call for backup from the Skylanders.

Role

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure

At Troll Warehouse, the Mabu Snuckles, a former resident of Shattered Island, begins his first mission as a special agent and guides the Skylanders through the warehouse in search of the Golden Gear.

At Goo Factory, Rizzo, the founder and self-made Captain of the force, leads a squad of troops into battle to capture the enemy factories. Pinned behind large enemy turrets, Nort, the squad's scout, discovers a nearby Troll ammo dump containing Mega Bombs. The Skylanders capture the ammo dump and roll a Mega Bomb to destroy the factories' barriers. Once the factories are captured, The Mabu Defense Force assist in the collection of Primordial Green Goo for the Core of Light.

At Battlefield, the Mabu Defense Force get overwhelmed by Troll forces before the Skylanders step in and help out. They capture a Troll stockpile containing a Mega Bomb, which the Skylanders use to destroy a barrier protecting the Troll Super Tank. Once the Skylanders destroy the tank, the Eternal Tech Source is revealed.

Skylanders: Trap Team

The Mabu Defense Force is capable of holding their own against enemies for a short while, taking down obstacles and building platforms for the Skylanders to reach certain areas. Buzz is the commanding leader of the group in this game, and the general appears to have been replaced by Rizzo.

In Chompy Mountain, the Skylanders and Buzz rallied the Mabu Defense Force living at the base of the mountain to aid the Skylanders in their quest to defeat and capture the Chompy Mage. They build bridges for the Skylanders to go across throughout the chapter.

At the Mystic Mill, the Mabu Defense Force accompany Flynn and the Skylanders to reclaim the mill and shut down the Doom Raiders' Evilikin operation.

In The Future of Skylands, the Mabu Defense Force appears to have replaced the Skylanders entirely as a primary defense force as mentioned by other characters in the future at random points. However in their struggle against Wolfgang, they had to resort to acting undercover as the Resistance.

In Operation: Troll Rocket Steal, the Mabu Defense Force accompanies the Skylanders in their mission to break into a Troll military base containing the Trolls' super-secret rocket, which the Skylanders must steal in order to reach the Skyhighlands. The Mabu help the Skylanders fight off armies of Trolls along with building scaffolding for the Skylanders to gain access to certain areas.
