Trivia

The Temple of Topaz and the Jeweled Coliseum as seen from the temple.
  • Although no transition to Lair of the Golden Queen is shown, the Jeweled Coliseum and the Temple of Topaz can be seen at a small distance from her temple in the cutscene at the end of the Future of Skylands. Strangely, the opposite isn't true; the temple can't be seen from the previous level despite the proximity.
  • Before the Golden Queen's rule, Grave Clobber was the pharaoh of the Golden Desert, until his brothers betrayed him and almost ruined the kingdom in their attempt to control it.
  • Blocker Birds from the Phoenix Psanctuary can be seen flying in the Golden Desert's background.
  • This level contains a strange blue-jeweled coin hidden behind a Traptanium crystal. When collected, this coin grants its collector a large amount of experience, but it cannot be collected if the Skylander who touches it is already level 20.
    • Because this coin bears a strong similarity to the purple-jeweled coins that served as placeholders in early versions of Kaos' Kastle, it may have been a placeholder in Trap Team's early development that accidentally endured into the final game.
  • Cali places dynamite to blow up a wall in this level, harking back to a similar section in Troll Home Security where she rigged a different wall to explode.
  • Despite being one of the last levels in Trap Team, the Golden Desert is the first level in its game to introduce spear traps.
