Bombs are items common in most games of the franchise. Like Keys and Rockets, the Skylanders can use bombs to clear obstacles and advance the level. These include certain walls, barbed wire, Tzo Crystals and rock formations. They can also be used to defeat enemies, as they have a large blast area and deal exactly 100 damage. Bombs are subject to a timer and will detonate when it runs out. They have a stronger counterpart called the Mega Bomb, which needs to be rolled manually to its destination and can destroy things such as giant tanks and turret towers, and like most items than can be rolled automatically defeats any enemy on its way.
In games taking place after Skylanders: Trap Team, bombs have the appearance of rockets, and can be dispensed from nearby machines. Though they still have the same purpose, they travel in a specific arc when thrown rather than following the general direction of the nearby obstacle.
