Trivia

  • It is possible, through some pushing and well-timed, low-damage knock-back attacks, to push Chompy Pods on to Bounce Pads, causing them to bounce in the air repeatedly. The same trick can be used to push them off the edge of the world entirely, defeating them instantly.
  • Despite not being able to deal direct damage in any of the games, the Official Strategy Guide for Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure claims that Chompy Pods can deal 1 damage.
  • In Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, Chompy Pods briefly appear in Darklight Crypt within Occulous' Maze. When switching to the Ghost World, they take on a spiky blue-purple appearance, a model that would later be reused for Root Runners.
    • In the Ghost World of Darklight Crypt, Chompy Pods spawn Bone Chompies instead of normal Chompies.
    • Chompy Pods using the design from Darklight Crypt also appeared as separate enemies called Shrink Pods in the 3DS version of Spyro's Adventure in the Wingwarrens, and reappeared in the 3DS version of Skylanders: Swap Force at Fountain Springs. However, these pods don't spawn Chompies in 3DS versions, and they spit shrinking projectiles instead.
      • The Projectiles don't shrink the Skylander in the Nintendo 3DS version of Swap Force.
      • The Shrink Pods in the 3DS versions lack spikes on their model.
  • In the console versions of Skylanders: Giants, Chompy Pods are replaced with Root Runners.
  • Unused red Chompy Pods appear in alpha versions of Giants, where they spawn Enfuego Chompies.[1]
  • In the Strata: The Art of Skylanders: Swap Force, Chompy Pods appear with a number of alternate concept designs, appearing as leafy plant heads that sprang from the ground. Chompies would then emerge from their vines or from the backs of their heads. More traditional concepts depict Chompy Pods with a variety of elemental color schemes, including one unusual version bulging with yellow orbs.[2]
