Quests

Quests are a ranking system appearing in Skylanders: Giants and Skylanders: Swap Force. Individual Skylanders can complete nine optional challenges to increase their Quest Rank and obtain hats or stat boosts. The design of a Skylander’s Elemental symbol on the in-game HUD reflects their Skylander’s Quest Rank, becoming more ornate as the rank increases.
Skylanders released in Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure and Giants have a distinct set of Quests in both Giants and Swap Force, meaning progress on one game’s set will not carry over into the other. Additionally, the Quest Rank and progression of a Skylander, as well as any in-game benefits conferred by it, is limited to the game the respective Quests were completed in. However, due to Quest data being stored on the physical figure, Quest Rank and progress will carry across different versions of the same game, regardless of console or save progression.
Every Skylander’s set of nine Quests can be divided into three categories:
- Basic Quests comprise five out of the total nine and are identical across all Skylanders. These Quests task a Skylander with doing mundane activities, like defeating enemies or eating Food.
- Elemental Quests comprise three out of the total nine and are based on which Element the Skylander is from. The Elementalist Quest only differs in which Element it relates to (it will always be the same as the Skylander who has this Quest).
- Special Quests comprise only one out of the total nine and are unique to each Skylander.
Quest Rank Levels
A Skylander’s Quest Rank can be increased by completing certain numbers of Quests. Alongside a decorative border for their in-game Elemental symbol, increasing a Skylander’s Quest Rank grants rewards that vary based on the game:
- Bronze Rank is achieved by completing any three Quests. In Giants, it unlocks the Bronze Top Hat for that Skylander, and in Swap Force, grants an additional 25 health.
- Silver Rank is achieved by completing any six Quests. In Giants, it unlocks the Silver Top Hat for that Skylander, and in Swap Force, grants an additional 25 health.
- Gold Rank is achieved by completing all nine Quests. In Giants, it unlocks the Gold Top Hat for that Skylander, and in Swap Force, grants an additional 25 health.
The additional health granted by each Quest Rank in Swap Force is cumulative, meaning a Gold Rank Skylander receives the 25 health bonus for Bronze, Silver, and Gold Ranks, for a cumulative 75 additional health points. The hats given for each Quest Rank in Giants can also be considered stat increases for the Skylander; the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Top Hats all boost the Critical Hit, Speed, and Armor stats, with the higher rank hats providing a larger boost.
