- “I'm the Bomb!”
- – Countdown's official catchphrase
Countdown is an anthropomorphic bomb who is one of the new Tech core Skylanders released alongside Skylanders: Swap Force.
Background
Personality
Countdown blows up at a moment's notice, although there is one drawback. Every time he explodes, he loses his memory all over again.[1]
Biography
Countdown was discovered by a group of Yetis who were snowboarding one particularly chilly morning when they came across a big bomb encased in ice. After bringing it back to their cabin, they were shocked when it actually came to life. No one, not even Countdown himself, has any memory of where he came from or how he ended up frozen in the mountains. Since becoming a Skylander, Master Eon has been graciously trying to help piece together fragments of his past. But this has proven difficult, as Countdown loses some of his memory every time he explodes – which happens a lot. In the meantime, Countdown has enjoyed working with Eon and fighting alongside the Skylanders to defend their world against evil – even though he occasionally forgets what he is doing.

Lightcore Countdown Figure
Trivia
- As a LightCore figure, his bomb head is red indicating his ability to detach his explosive head. However, his fully-lit fuse lights up.
- Though based on LightCore Countdown's gameplay figure, he doesn't seem to light up in-game, making him the only LightCore character to do so.
- This might be because it is based on his basic ability, Bomb Head, which makes his head explode.
- Though based on LightCore Countdown's gameplay figure, he doesn't seem to light up in-game, making him the only LightCore character to do so.
- Countdown resembles N.Trance from Crash Bandicoot.
- He also resembles Buhdeuce from Breadwinners, since both their heads are round-like and tend to explode.
- Just as Ghost Roaster is capable of dying in the hub level using his attacks, Countdown can die in the hub level using his attacks in the 3DS game.
- Some of Countdown's abilities are similar to Alisa Bosconovitch from Tekken 6. Both characters use their arms as rockets and can detonate their heads.
- Countdown, Stump Smash, Prism Break, Drill Sergeant and Eruptor are the only bipedial Skylanders without hands.
- In the 3DS version, LightCore Countdown's face isn't red, but black.
