Early conceptual Skylanders designs by Roland Mechael that include two versions of Ignitor as an Undead Skylander
Background
Personality
Gallant and trustworthy, Ignatius changed his name to Ignitor and remains true to his pledge to use his powers to protect the innocent.[2] Since his encounter with the witch that gave him the cursed armor, he holds a dislike for witches.
Biography
On his first quest as a knight, Ignitor was tricked by a cunning witch into wearing a magical suit of armor that he was told would resist fire from a dragon. But as it turned out, it was made of cursed steel. He journeyed to a dragon’s lair where a single blast of fire transformed him into a blazing spirit, binding him to the suit of armor for eternity. Despite this setback, Ignitor remains a spirited knight who is always fired up to protect Skylands from evil… and find the witch that tricked him.
Story
History
When first he encountered the red dragon, Ignatius was a young knight with squeaky armour and a rusty sword. On his way to slay the beast, he met a witch who presented him with a special (and handy) gift - a magical suit of armour offering protection from dragon breath. But a nasty surprise was waiting for Ignatius at the dragon's lair. The monster rained its fiery breath over the knight's poor head, settling him on fire. Ignatius had been tricked! His new suit was made from a cursed steel that bound itself to him, trapping him inside where he would forever remain a fire spirit. But all was not lost. He defeated the dragon and became a Skylander. Now named Ignitor, he has since embraced his fiery talents and keeps a vengeful lookout for witches everywhere.[1]
Gameplay
Ignitor has the ability to temporarily leave his cursed suit of armor to singe nearby enemies with his flaming spirit form as well as creating an explosion when exiting the armor, although his armor cannot move and it is left vulnerable for enemies to attack. He also wields a flaming sword to slice and sear his enemies, and slam it onto the ground for massive damage.
His attacks are very strong, but he and Sprocket are tied for having very low Health, the lowest in the game next to Boomer and Trigger Happy; which means he won't take long to get defeated.

Ignitor was called Ignatius before he was cursed.[1]
It is unknown what species Ignitor was before he was turned into a fire spirit, but judging by his stocky frame, accent and strength, it's possible that he could've been a dwarf.
On the Wii version of Giants, there is a glitch where Ignitor's Flame Form Mortar goes extremely high into the air sometimes. This normally happens when you are under a ledge.
His catchphrase is a play on 'Crash and Burn', which is also Fryno's official catchphrase.
His catchphrase "Slash and Burn" is also a technique that involves the cutting and burning of plants in forests or woodlands to create fields.
Ignitor is voiced by Dwight Schultz who did additional voices in Spyro's Adventure, and is also known for his role of Howling Mad Murdock from the A-Team TV series as well as voicing the character, Mung Daal in the animated television series, Chowder, and villain Aloysius Animo in the animated television series, Ben 10.
In Spyro's Adventure, Ignitor is the only Fire Skylander who does not have an evil counterpart in boss battles.
According to the Book of Elements: Fire and Water; Ignitor asked his fellow Skylanders for help removing the cursed armor. Nevertheless, their methods had no effect on the armor; and he stopped trying once his mother complimented him all the same during a visit.
