Return of the Dragon King

When Malefor was on his way to attack the Skylanders Academy, Bouncer, the Giants and other Skylanders were summoned to stop the evil dragon. The Giants managed to grab hold of the Malefor's tail to hold him down and allow their comrades to attack him all at once, but were caught off guard when the mechanical tail was also made as a weapon, allowing Malefor to knock the other Giants off-balance. Before the Skylanders can scatter, Malefor defeated them and the Giants with a single whip of his powerful tail. This allowed Malefor to absorb their powers with a crystal to make himself more powerful. Once the crystal was destroyed by Spyro, Bouncer and the other Skylanders were granted back their strength and powers.

Rift into Overdrive

In response to the sky rifts appearing around Skylands, Bouncer and the other Giants were assigned to directly protect the Core of Light stationed at the Skylanders Academy in case of a direct assault. Bouncer expressed his fears and worries regarding the sky rifts that were threatening Skylands, but was calmed by Tree Rex. Gameplay

Bouncer's attacks include finger pistols, in which he shoots out some tiny bouncy balls, shoulder mounted cannons with which he fires powerful (and slow) missiles with a targeting computer, and can't move leaving him open to attack; and finally, I-Beam, where he shoots strong lasers from his eyes for close range combat, but it can overheat if used too long and it lowers his speed when using it.

Starting Powers

Trivia

  • His name is probably based on bouncers, which are security guards for various exclusive locations.
  • During production of Giants, Chopper was originally going to be the Tech Giant, but as T-Rexes were more horizontal than vertical, he wouldn't fit on the Portal of Power.[3] Eventually, the development team tried other ideas for the Tech Giant, including a Dark Arkeyan with miniguns for hands[4], until they created Bouncer.
    • Interestingly, he and Chopper both have the ability to fire missiles.
  • During Giants's early development, Bouncer's abilities/upgrades were differently named.[5]
    • "I-Beam" was called "Unlock Laser Beams."
    • "Targeting Computer" was replaced by an upgrade called "Improved Fingerguns," which increased the Fingerguns' fire rate and damage.
    • "Machine Fingerguns" was replaced by an upgrade called "Laster Upgrade," which had the same effect as "Cooler I-Beam."
    • "Cooler I-Beam" was replaced by an upgrade called "Exploding Fingerpistol Rounds," which caused the Fingerguns' projectiles to explode.
    • "Double Target" was called "Target More Enemies."
    • "Rockets On Demand" was called "Rockets On-Demand."
    • "Atomic Clouds" was called "Mushroom Cloud Explosions."
    • "Super Machine Fingerguns" was replaced by an upgrade called "Laser Upgrade 2," which had the same effect as "Professionally Cool I-Beam."
    • "Professionally Cool I-Beam" was replaced by "Laser Mines," which allowed Bouncer to unleash mines a floating mine that could be moved with lasers.
    • "Laser Mines" (final game version) was replaced by "Zapper Laser Mines," which enabled the mines to emit lasers.
    • "Fists of Destruction" was called "Homing Fists."
  • His Fingerguns resemble the hand gesture of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, as well as the gestures frequently used in the South Park episode "Something You Can Do with Your Finger".
  • He and Ninjini are the only Giants without legs.
  • His base is much smaller than the base of all other Giants.
  • Bouncer is voiced by Bumper Robinson, who also voices Bumblebee and Blitzwing in Transformers Animated, Rook Blonko and Bloxx in Ben 10: Omniverse and Falcon in "Avengers Assemble."
  • One of Bouncer's prototype color schemes has the same colors as Molten Hot Dog.
  • When first revealed at E3 2012, Bouncer's original biography states that he took too many hits to the head with a Roboto-Ball and decided to retire from the game, with the sport eventually fading away.
  • In Trap Team, Bouncer's jumping animation has been redone with him performing a backflip.
  • Bouncer and Eruptor are the only two Skylanders who don't sing their names near the music box in Flynn's Ship.
    • However, he does sing the word, “Bounce“.
  • In the alpha version of Skylanders: Giants, Bouncer fired mini-fists instead of bouncy balls.[6]
  • Bouncer's placeholder name was Robot Giant.
