- – Description
Jawbreakers are enemies that are first encountered in Kaos' Kastle, as the villain Brute. They, like the Goliath Drows, can protect themselves with their fists from the front, so is advisable to attack from behind. Jawbreakers have the special ability to launch a mega punch. If the attack fails, it falls to the ground, providing an opportunity to attack. If the attack succeeds, the Jawbreaker pause to laugh, which also serves as an opening in its guard.
Trivia
- Strangely, although Jawbreakers appear to be large enemies, attacks that don't affect most large enemies (like Wrecking Ball's Enemy Slurp, Fright Rider's A Real Drag and Crusher's Stone Beam) do work on Jawbreakers. It is unknown if this is a glitch or if it’s because Jawbreakers aren't programmed as large enemies.
- A Trap Master shares the same name as this enemy.
- Jawbreakers resemble Trog Wanderers, as both have green skin and yellow eyes. It is unknown if they are actually Trogs, however.
- In Skylanders Giants, the Jawbreakers' introduction text contains a typo: "He bobs, we weaves, but he also drops his guard."
- Jawbreakers were originally going to be called “Iron Spike Trollsen,” implying that Jawbreakers were originally going to be Trolls.
- If you trick a Jawbreaker into lunging off the edge of the level to it’s a death, a special animation that is completely different to their normal animation for falling off the map will play where they humorously fall face-first off the island or platform with their legs flailing in the air. They are the only enemies in the series to have more than one animation for falling off the map.
- On nightmare mode, a single punch from a Jawbreaker can do over 900 damage to a Skylander if it lands, making it the strongest attack from in non-boss enemy in all of giants. The damage is so ridiculous that any Skylander sans a few of the Giants at max level will be KO’d instantly if they are hit by the attack.
- They share many visual similarities with the Drow, Trolls, and Trogs, though their actual species is unkown.
- Their voices are lower pitched versions of Blaze Brewer’s voices. Their voices are reused for the voices of the regular enemy version of Pain-Yatta.
