Story
History
The Pirates played a role in kidnapping the mermaid girlfriend of the Skylander, Gill Grunt, who still searches for his love to this day.
Wash Buckler was once the captain of a band of good-natured pirates.
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure
Pirates inhabit a coastal bay called Dark Water Cove, where they had held the Twin Spouts of Ocea-Major Minor, until the Skylander breached through the cove and retrieved it. Upon hearing about the statues in the Leviathan Lagoon, the Pirates landed in the islands to find them, but were thwarted by the Skylander.
In Pirate Seas, Captain Dreadbeard and his gang of pirates laid seige on Plunder Island, taking the residents captive after forcing them to play their card games and succeeded in stealing the town's treasure. However, they were thrawted by the Skylander.
Skylanders: Giants
In Skylanders: Giants, the Pirates, under the command of Captain Dreadbeard, had taken over a carnival and named it Cutthroat Carnival. They like playing the game of Skystones, which is a game for pirates who abandoned the classic style of pirate life.
Skylanders: Trap Team
The pirates in Rainfish Riviera were holding Mags' Information Squid captive and were using it as bait for the Rain Fish himself. Bucko was the seadog that gave the Skylanders the key to the main control tower for the cranes scattered about. A few of them, Bomb Shell, Brawlrus, Brawl & Chain, and Grinnade, are trappable. Captain Dreadbeard arrives at the Skylanders Academy to offer the heroes a game of Skystones Smash, who is also involved in the Skaletones Showdown.
Unexpected Allies
Several Pirate Henchmen lead by Captain Blubberbeard robbed the Skylanders Academy and later discovered Bowser and Donkey Kong in a distant Skylands jungle, resulting in an all-out fight. They were eventually defeated with the assistance of two nearby Rift Engines, much to the surprise of Lava Lance Eruptor and Bone Bash Roller Brawl.
Skylanders: SuperChargers
The pirates return in Skylanders: SuperChargers within Battlebrawl Island under the command of the opponents the SuperChargers had to defeat in order to reach the island's champion, Spellslamzer. After returning from the Vault of the Ancients, the Skylander Academy was attacked by several Pirate Henchmen lead by Captain Blubberbeard, who managed to capture Mags during the chaos.
