Chapter Subtitle

Lava Lakes Railway is the nineteenth chapter in the console version of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Here, the Skylanders have to ride a train through a cavern filled with streams of lava to locate the Eternal Fire Source.

Description

The first half of Lava Lakes Railway is a dark underground extension of Molekin Mine. The second half of the level takes place in enormous, lava-filled caverns where the air wavers with heat and blue gems protrude from the ground. Train tracks snake throughout the level, connecting Lava Lakes Railways with the previous mine.

Story

The Skylanders and Diggs return to the mines by train in search of the Eternal Fire Source, with the Skylanders having to defeat enemies while using levers to move split tracks into the correct position. After opening the door to the Crystal Grottos, the train is forced to come to a stop due to the tracks being sabotaged, secretly done by Kaos' butler, Glumshanks. The Skylanders push block to close the gaps in the floor, and Diggs builds new tracks on top of them. With the tracks now safe, the train continues, nearly hitting Glumshanks who has to jump from the tracks to escape.

Finally arriving at the Lava Lakes, the Skylanders continue ahead while Diggs stays with the train, battling lava monsters until they reach the Eternal Fire Source. Suddenly, the hologram of Kaos appears yet again, determined to claim this Eternal Source for himself. He unleashes three new minions upon the Skylanders (the Evil Pyro Archer, the Evil Phoenix Dragon, and Evil Eruptor), while using the Eternal Source to conjure fire spells that rain down fireballs and create flaming fissures in the ground. Like in their previous encounters, the Skylanders survive the spells and defeat all three minions at once, causing Kaos to surrender the Eternal Fire Source. He mentions there's only one Eternal Source left to claim, and that he will not give up Skylands so easily before disappearing. The Skylanders grab the Fire Source and return to the Ruins.
