Sidekicks are eight, miniature versions of Skylanders and Giants who appear in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure and Skylanders: Giants.
The Sidekicks are Whisper Elf, Terrabite, Gill Runt,Trigger Snappy, Barkley, Eye-Small, Mini Jini and Thumpling. (Based on Stealth Elf, Terrafin, Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy, Tree Rex, Eye-Brawl, Ninjini and Thumpback.)
The games treat Sidekicks as if they were Magic Items.
The theory for these magic items is that they give your skylander a side-element. So, if you wanted to be Hot Head for instance, you could be the side element of earth (using Terrabite) to combine earth and fire to defeat some hard to beat enemies or enter a certain area.
